The project refers to the preliminary study of a primary school with bioclimatic features in the Municipality of Andravida with twelve classrooms. It is a full day school with a capacity of 300 students. The bioclimatic specialty of the school complex is reflected in its general architectural building organization, as well as in its relation with the plantation and the general formation of the available plot. For instance, in order to cover part of the heating needs of the certain school building, the installation of a geothermal system is proposed. The application of this proposed system, the “geothermal alternator”, aims to the achievement of both financial and environmental goals, such as the reduced consumption of petroleum, the production of a part of the required energy, and the decreased operating cost in a way fully compatible with the principles of sustainable development.
