The old school is situated in a plot of the village Merkovouni in Tripoli, which belongs to the municipality. The plot’s area is 2.243,19 sq.m..

The school, whose surface is 246,55 sq.m., is a historic stone building in an L shape with a wooden tile roof. The school is of special archtitectural interest, as it is a historical typological model of an educational building, which maintains many of its initial morphological features.

The study concerns the restoration of the building shell and its special morphological features, as well as its functional reuse as a Cultural Center in Merkovouni.
