REDESIGN OF THE FISHING SHELTER AND RIVER AT LIOPETRI IN CYPRUS

Architectural Competition 2011 i

Architectural study: ARSIS Architects

The central idea of the proposal is the creation of a completed reformed area in the province of Ammohostos, which highlights and respects the natural environment.  This central idea includes three complementary subcategories:

1 -The landscape’s upgrading and environmental improvement in the area of the river, so that it isn’t just recognized as a generalized pole of attraction, but rather as a specified  area of landscape recognition and environmental awareness.

2 - The upgrading of the fishing shelter, in order to ameliorate its functionality and to burden less the diversity and particularity of the area’s ecosystem, both terrestrial and marine.

3 - The assurance of a successful co-operation and complementarity with a parallel program -which deals with the protection and the promotion of the forest park at Liopetri- and with the networks of sidewalk and cycle tracks, coming from Saint Napa’s region.
