The special location of the existing square in the center of the settlement, as well as its direct extended contact with the waterfront in the long axis of the port, constitute the main factors of the proposed design. The square is a natural open space for the transition of the element of water into earth. It welcomes the visitors who arrive from the sea and head towards the village’s and island’s internal part. The square is the central reference of the settlement, which is developed radially around the square.
